JAMES & JEFF EASTER - Like Father, Like Son

For James Easter of The Easter Brothers and his son, Jeff, of Jeff & Sheri Easter, music has long been the family business. James has been traveling with his family for 60 years, while Jeff has been traveling with his wife, Sheri, and their family as Jeff & Sheri Easter since 1986. Before that, Jeff played with The Easter Brothers, and spent time with The Lewis Family, The Singing Americans, and Gold City.

It has been a long time coming, but this month, James and Jeff release a much-awaited and anticipated project. For both men, this is a dream come true. "When my mama passed away in 2011, Daddy was playing the song 'I Won't Have To Worry Anymore'," Jeff says. "Sheri, Rabbit [Jeff's brother, Steve Easter], and I sang at her funeral. We decided to record the song and have Daddy sing the second verse. From that, we decided to do this project, and I'm so thrilled at how it's turning out."

So now father and son, after all these years of enjoying each other's music, have teamed up to make what has turned out to be an incredible project. Appropriately called "Like Father, Like Son," the recording features songs these two men love and have always wanted to do. Both James and Jeff are featured on each song, and both men got to do things the way they wanted to on this recording. They called in a couple pairs of father-son friends to join them on a few songs Jonathan and Jordan Wilburn and Gerald and Jason Crabb are special guests, and the result is nothing short of amazing. Classic songs like "Down In The Valley" and a medley of camp meeting songs are included, along with some Easter Brothers hits, and the title song Sheri penned for the men.

It goes without saying that each of these men are proud of the work they've done individually and of each other's respective musical gifts they've been sharing with the world for many years. And when they come together, and especially when you hear them sing, you know unmistakably they truly are "Like Father, Like Son."
