CATHEDRALS - Radio Days CD and Alive Deep In The Heart Of Texas DVD

The Cathedral Quartet is remembered as one of the most popular groups in the history of Southern Gospel music. Now, two classic Cathedrals recordings are being rereleased to the public after years of being out of print. The “Radio Days” CD features many familiar songs on this popular project, while “Alive Deep In The Heart Of Texas,” previously only available on VHS, is available now for the first time on DVD!

One of the most beloved recordings of the Cathedral Quartet was “Radio Days.” This project was a tribute to the early beginnings of Southern Gospel quartet music when many popular quartets began their careers by performing radio shows across the United States from 1930 to 1950. Songs from the Stamps-Baxter/Stamps Quartet and James D. Vaughan catalogs quickly rose to prominence as a result of those shows. Today, as when the Cathedral Quartet first recorded this album, these songs are considered classics. StowTown Records has extracted this timeless treasure from their vault for fans to hear once again, and to introduce to a new generation.

In 1996, the Cathedrals took the stage at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. The result of that concert became what is known today as a “staple recording” for all Southern Gospel music collectors. Since the group’s retirement in 1999, this project had only been available on VHS, if at all! Now, StowTown Records is happy to announce the rerelease of “Alive Deep In The Heart Of Texas” on DVD. For the first time in 17 years, fans can relive this anointed evening again and again, now on remastered and reformatted DVD.
