SINGING NEWS CELEBRATING 50 YEARS

The history of the genre of Southern Gospel music has unfolded through the pages of the Singing News Magazine since its first publication in 1969. The magazine is, as its motto says, “the printed voice of Southern Gospel music.” In this special anniversary year, the publication has put together a collection of representative songs on “Singing News: Celebrating 50 Years.”

From the Happy Goodman Family to the Cathedral Quartet, Karen Peck & New River and the Hoppers, this fifteen song collection highlights some of the best songs and performances in Southern Gospel music over the last 50 years. Hand picked by the publisher of Singing News Magazine, this collection is a must-have for any collector of good Southern Gospel music.

Iconic songs like Gold City’s “Midnight Cry,” the Oak Ridge Boys’ “Jesus Is Coming Soon” and the Kingsmen’s “Excuses” take the listener back through Southern Gospel’s storied history to experience once again these favorites. With a “who’s who” of artists from yesterday and today, you won’t want to miss “Singing News: Celebrating 50 Years.”
